Bins & sizes

What is a Marrel bin?

A Marrel bin is the classic open skip with sloped ends. Our skip loader lifts it on and off with chains, and it sits low to the ground, so it's easy to load by hand or with a wheelbarrow. It also fits on most driveways. All of our bins are Marrel skips.

What sizes do you offer?

2m³, 3m³, 4m³, 5m³, 6m³, 8m³ and 10m³. As a rough guide, 1m³ is about four 240L wheelie bins, or one level-loaded 6×4 box trailer.

How do I know which size I need?

Our online quote form estimates your volume and recommends a bin. As a starting point, a garage clean-out usually needs 2–3m³, a bathroom reno 3–4m³, a kitchen reno 4–6m³, and building sites 8–10m³. If you're between sizes, going one size up is usually cheaper than a second bin.

What if my job is bigger than 10m³?

We can supply several bins at once, or set up regular exchanges where we swap a full bin for an empty one on a schedule that suits your job.

What can go in

What waste can I put in the bin?

General household waste, furniture, building and renovation waste, timber, green waste, scrap metal, cardboard, plasterboard, and heavy waste such as bricks, concrete, tiles and soil (in bins up to 6m³).

What can't go in the bin?

Asbestos, chemicals, liquid paint, oils, gas bottles, car batteries, tyres, clinical waste, liquids and mattresses. Asbestos must be removed by a licensed removalist under SafeWork NSW rules.

Why are heavy waste bins limited to 6m³?

Soil, concrete and bricks are extremely heavy. Above 6m³, a full bin would exceed safe and legal lifting and road weight limits. Heavy waste must also not be filled above the rim.

Can I put fridges or e-waste in?

Usually yes, but whitegoods and e-waste have to be handled separately at the tip, so an extra fee may apply. Just tick them in the quote form so your price is accurate. Mattresses can't go in our bins.

Delivery, permits & hire

Where can the bin be placed?

On a driveway, in a yard, on a work site, or on the road or footpath with a council permit. Our truck needs firm, clear access and enough overhead clearance. Let us know about steep driveways, low wires or tight gates.

Do I need a council permit?

If the bin goes on your property, usually not. If it goes on the road, nature strip or footpath, most NSW councils require a permit. We'll let you know what applies in your area when we confirm your quote.

Will the bin damage my driveway?

Our drivers place bins carefully. On delicate surfaces, we recommend laying timber boards under the bin's skids to spread the load.

How long can I keep the bin?

Hire periods are flexible, from a few days to ongoing site hire. Choose your period when booking. If you need longer, call us and we can extend it.

What happens to my rubbish?

Every load goes to licensed NSW waste and recycling facilities, where timber, metal, green waste, concrete and cardboard are recovered wherever possible.

Pricing & accounts

What does your best price guarantee mean?

If you have a written quote from another licensed NSW skip bin operator for the same bin size, waste type, delivery address and hire period, show it to us before you book and we'll match it. The quote must be current and the competitor must be able to deliver on the same terms.

What's included in the price?

Your quote covers delivery, the agreed hire period, collection and disposal of the waste you told us about. Extra charges only apply for things like excess weight, overfilling, extended hire or items not mentioned when booking. See our terms & conditions.

Do you offer trade accounts?

Yes. Builders and businesses can apply for a trade account with consolidated invoicing and scheduled exchanges. Apply on our trade account page, choose "Builder or tradie" in the quote form, or give us a call.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes, at no charge if you let us know before 4pm on the business day before delivery.
